The EP
:

Arcadia: a place where everything is perfect and nothing ever happens.

Brooklyn artist Ace Reporter is back and excited to offer listeners auditory escape with the Arcadia EP. The EP is the fourth and final in a series of releases showcasing handpicked tracks from the multi-faceted singer's threesixfive project, a dauntingly industrious project that found Ace writing and recording an original song for the entirety of 2010. Where most may have taken a sonic sabbatical after such an arduous challenge, Ace has not only spent the infancy of 2011 re-mastering and re-imagining threesixfive tracks, but also recently played a triumphant debut show at Brooklyn's Cameo Gallery. Three more shows in the NYC area are on the horizon including an April 21st release party for the Arcadia EP at The Delancey.

The journey to Arcadia begins with the hypnotic guitar strums of the title track that steadily sashay into a cascading collection of vocals and instrumentation. "The song," explains Ace, "is about movement without change. It's about being in a place of infinite naïveté." The garden party of "Arcadia" makes its way into the forests of Manhattan in "Stick To", where a distorted organ serves as the undercurrent for a track infused with the energy of a NYC night. Arcadia continues with a succession of coast to coast collaborations – Brooklyn's Swingset Committee (facebook.com/pages/Swingset-Committee/60479339076) serve up a kinetic storm of synthesizers on their infectious remix of "Lean Honey Lean", and left coast compatriots Barbara (www.wearebarbara.com) transform "The World Is On Fire" into an electro anthem from the future. "Pelican" finds Ace channeling his inner Thom Yorke as he battles a vocoder and a shadowy beat concocted by frequent collaborator Chris Kuklis. The digital release of the Arcadia EP also features a re-imagining of Arcade Fire's "We Used to Wait", where soaring violins effortlessly interlace with Ace's disarming vocals. The Background:

In 1986 a young Ace Reporter (aka Chris Snyder) saw Itzhak Perlman playing violin on Sesame Street and became enamored with the world of classical music. A few years later, Ace landed his first gig as a singer as the boy soprano on the soundtrack for The Crow. His voice appeared in dozens of movies, TV shows and commercials throughout the course of the next several years. An electric guitar and a creative spark led Ace from recording tracks in his garage to forming The States in 2002, a band he spent 7 years with, releasing 3 albums and playing over 300 shows. With The States on permanent hiatus, the threesixfive project was born in Brooklyn in 2010 and can be found in its entirety here: http://myacereporter.com/
