The Song:

On July 24th, 40Love will release their latest album, Dreams Don't Sleep, and already the Bay Area foursome, comprised of MC/vocalist Miss Haze, rapper G-OFF, and DJ/Producers Mikos and The Whooligan, have been hard at work spreading the early gospel. Currently, 40Love is in Europe on a month-long, FTC-sponsored tour across the continent, and today, the group is excited to release the album's latest single, "Think Too Much."

Produced by Mikos, "Think Too Much" features a bouncy beat that G-OFF and Miss Haze lace with rapid-fire rhymes, and a refreshingly unique concept that G-OFF conceived while nervously awaiting a show. "It can be a curse and a blessing to over think situations, but its mostly deemed as a curse," observes G-OFF. "But everyone thinks too much, and if you can truly connect with everyone on that level, it diffuses the negative aspects of relating to others," adds Miss Haze.

Executing this concept presented the group with the unique problem of not only adding, as 40Love calls it, a "voice in the back of the head" character to the track, but also giving that voice the appropriate tone. "We ended up making it a self-effacing character," explains Miss Haze. "Making fun of some of our quirks, but it's ultimately a friend, knowing that thinking is a good thing."
