The Podcast:

No matter what you’re doing or how your feeling this summer, our podcast brings you a new song that’ll fit perfectly. This week’s starts off with “IDKY” by Slim Thug ft. X.O., a somber track addressing police brutality that was released this week following the murders of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling. The track is on Hogg Life 4: American King, Slim’s upcoming album, and is available as a gratis download, along with the single “Peaceful,” when you pre-order the album. Next up is the versatile Cleveland rapper Ripp Flamez with his smooth single “Your Way.”  Ripp has been busy living up to his “Best New Artist” award from 2015 Ohio Hip-Hop Awards and gives us a romantic R’n’B ballad from his freshly dropped album DayOne Forever. Following “Your Way” we hear from Taylor Gang member Sosamann, who contemplates mortality on his down-tempo banger “Roller Koaster,” the closing track of his Sauce Eskobar mixtape. Fresh off of releasing TWKGO 2, the sequel to his wildly popular 2015 mixtape They Know What’s Going On, Jackson, Mississippi’s Lil Lonnie keeps it going with “Special” ft. K. Camp, a hook-heavy anthem to the single-life. Mikey Dollaz closes out the podcast with “Problem,”  a standout track from his recently released mixtape Good Music Gone Bad. The track highlights his style of high-intensity grime-influenced drill that has helped him, according to HotNewHipHop, become “one of Chicago’s most promising talents.”
