New Audible Treats Hip-Hop Podcast 184 Features Bankroll Mafia, Mistah F.A.B., Saba, The Mekanix & Wasiu

Leading this week’s Audible Treats Hip-Hop Podcast 184 is Bay Area ambassador Mistah F.A.B. with his song “What Yo Hood Like,” a boom-bap throwback produced by Pete Rock and featuring a prime verse from Jadakiss. “What Yo Hood Like,” premiered recently by Billboard, is the first single from the Oakland legend’s upcoming album, Son of a Pimp 2, out May 27th. Next up we stay in the Bay Area with production duo The Mekanix and their new single “On My Hustle,” a banger driven by a squelching bassline, skittering drums and classic Bay Area synths. Featuring guest appearances from Keak Da Sneak, Iamsu, and J. Stalin and a verse from 4 rAX of The Mekanix himself, the HipHopDX-premiered track is the first single from the duo’s Under The Hood project, out June 3rd. Following “On My Hustle” is Bankroll Mafia with “Neg 4 Degrees,” a highlight from the Atlanta supergroup’s self-titled project, which came out April 23rd. Bankroll Mafia is a newly-formed rap collective from Atlanta, comprised of T.I.P., Young Thug, Shad Da God, London Jae & YSL Duke. “Neg 4 Degrees” is a showcase for Young Thug, who demonstrates his trademark oddball melodicism and rhythmic flows with assists from Duke and Shad Da God. Following Bankroll Mafia comes Wasiu, who i-D called the “Hip Hop Voice of Montreal,” with “Outer Space,” the opening track from Wasiu’s 2015 mixtape MTLiens, which recently became a video premiered by The FADER. “Outer Space” received acclaim from FACT Magazine, who named it one of the best videos of the week. Closing out this edition of the Audible Treats podcast is Saba, the Chicago West Sider and Chance The Rapper affiliate, with “World In My Hands.” Featuring assists from Smino and Legit, the i-D-premiered track dropped while Saba was on tour in Europe supporting Jazz Cartier. Look for more music from Saba later in 2016.
