TGIF in New York!
CMJ is here and we here at Audible Treats have a busy Friday lined up…we hope you can join us!
First off, our resident international hip-hop expert (www.flight808.com) Tommy Morello is on The State of Hip Hop CMJ panel this afternoon. Hip-hop purists and new school innovators will debate the current state of hip-hop and hipsterdom with reference to the genre’s history and talk about what’s to come in ‘08 and beyond. $20 says that someone will reference “coke rap” on this panel. If that’s not enough for you, Def Jux is putting on a show at the Williamsburg Music Hall featuring El-P, Hangar 18, Yak Ballz, Junk Science, Cool Calm Pete, and Despot. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are only 15 bucks. This is your last chance to see Junk Science before they head across the country as part of Del’s 11th Hour Tour alongside fellow Embedded Records artists Iller Than Theirs.
