Critical Praise for Marc E. Bassy:

“Marc E. Bassy is a fresh voice and one of LA’s own. He fits comfortably in the space between Frank Ocean and Mac Miller.” – LA Music Blog

“His bouncy flow channels the manic energy of Chance The Rapper; the animated style and tempered synths of “Cigarettes” could comfortably fit as a b-side to Acid Rap – SPIN

“We were able to give Marc his first ever solo performance at our SXSW Showcase, and it exceeded all expectations.” – Good Music All Day

“A very unique artist, you’ll want to tune in for 2014.” – Hypnotic Hippo

The Video:

450 miles is a long way to walk to clear your head but that’s what singer songwriter Marc. E Bassy did for the video for “Stick To Your Guns.” Capturing the entire coastline from his former hometown of San Francisco to his current hometown of Los Angeles, the video follows Marc as he traverses miles upon miles of glittering coastal frontage roads, misty Redwood forests, abandoned batteries and rail yards, and bucolic farmland. “I always walk. That’s when I write the most music and sort everything out,” explains Marc. “It’s a good form of meditation.”

As a former member of the 2AM Club, an indie pop group signed to RCA with a YouTube hit, Marc experienced a fair amount of successes and benefits living the Hollywood life but decided to abandon it all to pursue a career as a solo singer songwriter. “Being able to pack up and leave when the time is right is the backbone of this song,” says Marc. “My music career has always been about believing in myself and disregarding what people might tell me or at times, what I tell myself.”

With an easy-to-recall hook and spacey drums penetrating synthy harmonies, “Stick To Your Guns” straddles the line between mainstream radio and indy charm, bringing something uniquely satisfying. His EP, Only the Poets, has been well received from everyone from Billboard to Complex to SPIN and has over 100k listens on Soundcloud.
