EP: Collie Buddz – Blue Dreamz
With Features from Riff Raff and Snoop Dogg, the Bermuda-Bred Reggae Artist Delivers Feel-Good EP
There’s no shortage of bangers on New Orleans-born, Bermuda-raised reggae artist Collie Buddz‘ Blue Dreamz EP, an eight-track project out now on Louder Than Life/Sony Music. The EP blends the bedroom with the dance floor with Collie Buddz’ feel-good, summer vibes and features from hip-hop vets Riff Raff and Snoop Dogg. Earlier this month, Buddz also took the stage at Hot 97‘s annual On The Reggae & Soca Tip, the station’s biggest Caribbean show.
Blue Dreamz was recorded after Collie Buddz took a trip to Jamaica, with him “getting back to the roots, that raw Reggae sound,” as he told The FADER, who premiered the first single “Like Yuh Miss Me.” The song is about delayed gratification—or what Buddz calls “I missed you” love. “Everyone can relate, whether it was a long day or a quick business trip,” he explained. “In my case, I’m gone for weeks at a time. It’s beautiful, it’s that little spice everyone needs in their relationship.”
With the EP, the Bermuda artist delivers his timeless approach to reggae and dancehall as he celebrates the finer things in life – Women, weed, and friends. He drives that home on the appropriately titled “Go Hard,” a crowd pleaser during his seemingly endless tour schedule. Collie Buddz has spent the past few years supporting the likes of Cypress Hill, Rebelution, and Matisyahu, and still has dates until the end of this year through 2016. His first project since 2012’s Playback, Blue Dreamz once again proves his incomparable talent for blending ol’-school riddims with modern sounds.

Collie Buddz Background:
Growing up on the island of Bermuda, Reggae music was a formidable influence on a young Collie Buddz. Born Colin Harper in New Orleans, LA to a mother of Bermudian heritage with roots on the island dating back to the 1700s, his father passed away while Collie Buddz was at the tender age of four. Introduced to Reggae music by his older brother, Matthew, affectionately just known as “Smokey,” by the tenderfoot age of 12, Colin Harper quickly learned his way around a music studio.
With support from his team at Mojiza Management and touring and merchandising backing at Ineffable Music, Collie Buddz has toured the world. He’s honed his craft while in support of several tours with artists such as Cypress Hill, Rebelution and Matisyahu. He’s performed in front of thousands at the largest music festivals such as Lollapalooza, Boomtown, Summer Jam and the California Roots Festival. While touring, Buddz still found time to record new material and release original music independently on his own record label, Harper Digital. He’s even managed to launch a new radio station back home in Bermuda (Vibe 103) and become a father.
