MP3: Markis Precise ft. Brother Ali – “The Feeling of Flying”

Premiered by Nah Right, Brother Ali Joins the California Producer For Glimmering Title Track From Forthcoming Debut Album, The Feeling of Flying

The Song:

California producer Markis Precise is gearing up for the release of his debut album, The Feeling of Flying, with the glimmering title track featuring Rhymesayers MC Brother Ali. Premiered by Nah Right, “The Feeling of Flying” presents Markis Precise’s wavy production on top of Brother Ali’s poetic, honest rhymes. “I got a hole in my soul where the pain dug, and now I let it overflow when the rain comes,” he raps in the track. Markis’ boom bap drums and infectious guitar mirror the title, giving listeners the feeling of taking off into blue skies as Brother Ali describes the process of transforming suffering into motivation. The Fresno native previously released his first single off the project, “Kiss the Ring,” which features Elzhi and FashawnMass Appeal raved,” This one has a perfect summer vibe and a gentle hat tip to Dilla… Fashawn makes sure to let us know that he has ‘massive appeal’ on this joint and that ‘This ain’t backpack rap.'”

The Feeling of Flying fulfills a 15-year passion pursuit, following Markis’ days navigating the West Coast underground. In addition to Brother Ali, the project features Fashawn and Elzhi, as well as Ras Kass, Zion I, Oddisee, The Grouch, SOL, and Strong Arm Steady. With his 13-track album, Mark Precise aims to continue his journey through music. Reconsidering the collaborative process in the digital age, this is an introduction to one musical visionary who aims to raise the bar in sharing style, message, and the creative process. For Mark Precise, the moment manifests a vision and purpose he has been elevating for 15 years. Stay tuned for The Feeling of Flying, slated to release on July 28th.

Markis Precise Background:

Fresno, California native Markis Precise is in a truly rare position. Entering his debut solo album, The Feeling Of Flying (TK), Mark is also a decorated veteran. In the 15 years between the breakthrough release featuring Brother Ali, Fashawn, Ras Kass, Zion I, Oddisee, and others, the producer and musician honed his style, and fulfilled a lifelong passion. Identifying a plethora of his own personal favorite MCs, the Sacramento-based musician cold-called his collaborators. The Feeling Of Flying contains accents, adjustments, and highlights around each MC’s concept, adding to the true collaborative process in the digital age. Do-it-yourself for Mark, has evolved to do-it-ourselves. With his 13-track album, the producer aims to continue his journey through music. Returning to one of his dreams, the producer is not driven by fortune or fame, but rather to reach listeners, the way he was reached—by music. Cohesive, thematic, and evocative, The Feeling Of Flying soars above the expectations of a compilation work. However, for Markis Precise, the moment manifests a vision and purpose he has been elevating for 15 years.
