Video/News: Iamsu!, Too $hort Feature On C-Money’s Debut EP, Just 4 You

The Oakland, CA Rapper Announces Details of His Debut EP via HipHopDX, Tracklist Includes Features From Too $hort, Iamsu!, and Kool John

The Announcement:

Oakland California rapper C-Money, known for his smooth style and jovial demeanor, announces November 18th release date for Just 4 You EP via HipHopDX. The 8 track project features Bay Area trendsetters Too $hort, Kool John, and Iamsu!. The first two singles, “Play That” featuring Iamsu! and “Corner Music” featuring Mackin’, have each garnered six figure YouTube views, highlighting the playful, bouncy esthetic that is captivating the California urban music scene. C-Money’s music has not only received local but national admiration, as his single “Play That” aired on 106 & Park, cementing the early twenty-something as one of the Bay’s next sensations.

Part of what makes C’s music stand alone is his careful balance of lyricism and vitality. “I have an East coast flare with a West coast style,” he says, citing Wu-Tang Clan and Scarface as primary songwriting influences. Like most Bay rappers, C-Money’s “slap” style beats are fitting for the strip club, and with catchy choruses he stuffs honest bars, wisdom, and life into his rhymes. With Just 4 You being the crucial building block for his career, C mentions “I took the point in time I’m at in my life and put it in the music. Its more of a turn-up EP, something you can feel good about.”

Having come from the complicated streets of Oakland, C-Money fancies himself a survivor of consequences that were not always pleasant, making the right choices difficult at times. Embracing the journey and not just the end goal, C continues to avoid the wrong choices and reap the benefits of the right ones. With a nearing EP the young creative is on the cusp of being the next artist to pop from the golden state.

C-Money Background:

With a smooth style and a jovial demeanor, Oakland California rapper, C-Money is easy to get along with. Part of what makes C’s music stand out is his careful balance of lyricism and style. “I have an East Coast flare with a West Coast style,” he describes, citing Wu-Tang Clan and Scarface as primary songwriting influences. “With the punchlines, a lot of artists are just gonna be limited to that. I’m a melodic artist, who rides that beat—so I get both of those. Plus, my sound is catchy.” Like Bay rappers are known for, C-Money’s slapping beats fit the strip club, but between his own catchy choruses, he stuffs the bars with honesty, wisdom, and life—unlike many of today’s rappers—things he’s actually lived.
