With a luxurious, brooding aesthetic perfect for a long drive in their home state of California, Blaq Tuxedo’s signature sounds blends genres and eras. Returning with a full-length hosted by Los Angeles’ DJ Carisma, the LA-based duo announces Tap In, an 11-track slice of streetwise rap-n-b. Produced almost entirely by Blaq Tuxedo themselves, Tap In is packed with a diverse array of well-crafted jams. Today, the duo provides a glimpse at the record’s diversity by dropping two drastically different singles: “About It” and “Over Due.” Premiered by Pigeons & Planes, “About It” is an abrasive, addictive club track, with booming bass and blaring sirens, perfect for blasting at full volume and annoying the hell out of your neighbors as you go dumb at a house party. On the flipside, “Over Due,” premiered by Earmilk, is a gentle slow jam, marked by overdriven guitar and liquid electric piano. Releasing on April 7th, Tap In is a bass-heavy collection of bangers, perfect for the club or the whip.

Born in Sacramento, Darius and Dom Logan started singing together when they were young childen, honing their skills until moving to L.A. in 2009 to become professional producers/songwriters. The brothers built a reputation and connected with other writers in Los Angeles, such as Andre Merritt and Fly Stylz, who introduced Dom and Darius to Usher and Chris Brown. The duo became one of the industry’s songwriting go-to’s, writing hits for Brown, Meek Mill, Ciara, August Alsina, Omarion, among others, and earning a Grammy nomination in 2014. In 2012, the duo released Unforgettable, their first vocal project, recording under the name D&D. Soon afterward, they changed their name to Blaq Tuxedo, which they felt better encapsulated their sound. As Blaq Tuxedo, they have released two EPs, including the recent Red Flowerz, which featured appearances from Bibi Bourelly, IAMSU! and Ty Dolla $ign, and the self-sufficient Limousine EP. Most recently, the Logan brothers dropped “Lit,” a single that earned over 700,000 plays on SoundCloud. Look for Tap In to hit digital retailers on April 7th, followed by a full-length album later this year.
